Humble BeginningsMy career began washing cold, dirty clay plant pots. This experience taught me a strong work ethic with appreciation for the basics that underpin many great beginnings. Through this simple job I developed a passion for horticulture, leading me to go for greater knowledge and expertise.Academic PursuitsAfter a one year college horticultural course, I started on the 3 years Diploma course at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. This was a transformative period, where I trained with industry legends such as Alan Titchmarsh. The rigorous training and invaluable insights gained during this time provided me with a solid foundation in horticulture, personal development. I did a post diploma in staff management with the Institute of Leisure and Amenity management in Reading. Leadership ExperienceAfter, I obtained a post with a Parks department as a skills trainer then later a manager. These roles allowed me to develop essential leadership and management skills, as I was responsible for overseeing various projects with my team. This experience furthered my ability to drive change and foster growth within my department, as I began using the departments spreadsheets and word processing for administration.Global ImpactAfter further self-development and training, I moved into freelance training, focusing on computers. This career move took me to every continent except South America and the Arctic. Through this journey, I gained a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of diverse cultures and learning environments. Training professionals from different backgrounds enhanced my ability to communicate complex concepts effectively and adapt to varying educational needs.National InfluenceArriving back the UK, I retrained in NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming to Master Level) and dedicated myself to developing and training in soft skills for various government and private companies. I impacted a broader audience, helping individuals improve their communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. My training sessions are designed to equip participants with the tools needed to succeed in both their personal and professional lives.Semi-RetirementNow, I am semi-retired but remain passionately involved in coaching, mentoring and speaking. Leveraging Ai technology, I conduct sessions via Zoom to global clients. I focus on supporting individuals aged 35 onwards.
