About David Crouch
I am an experienced freelance journalist, lecturer, editor and communications consultant in Sweden. I was a news editor at the Financial Times in London for 8 years. Since moving to Scandinavia in 2013, I have analysed Sweden's general election for the New York Times, written on the refugee crisis for the Guardian, and reported on the enduring popularity of Sweden's alcohol monopoly for the Financial Times. Meanwhile I have lectured on investigative journalism to Masters students at Gothenburg University, have talked about scandal in the British media at Media Days Gothenburg, and spoken to news executives at SVT in Stockholm on the transition to digital.I have worked extensively as a media consultant for major private companies in Sweden.I have more than two decades experience in newspaper, magazine and web journalism in Sweden, the UK, Russia and Ukraine. I spent seven years in Russia in the 1990s and covered Ukraine's Orange Revolution for global news outlets in 2004-05.Shawn Donnan, my former boss as World News Editor at the Financial Times, says (after only gentle prompting): "David Crouch is one of the finest journalists I've ever worked with.
