Attentional's US office managed a continuous research programme into the ways the human brain processes entertainment. For five years, Attention Inc evaluated development projects for NBC, the US network. In 2011 Attention Inc. moved from joint venture to a subsidiary of Attentional Ltd. Attentional US also managed global market studies for clients seeking strategic insights into opportunities in global media markets.

TAPE Consultancy supplies information about new TV debuts from global TV markets and advises clients on acquisition and programming strategies.

Diverse, a UK production company, was set up by David Graham and Peter Donebauer in 1981 to produce programmes for the newly-formed Channel 4. Diverse was one of the first of its kind: as its name implies our aim was to bring a new diversity to UK television. During my time as CEO, Diverse made a number of original and often controversial series -- The Friday Alternative, Diverse Reports, The New Enlightenment. During this period I was also active in the lobby for a quota for independent production on the BBC (which was successful) and attended the famous Downing Street Seminar in 1987, where I was able to promote this idea to an (already supportive) Margaret Thatcher..

Producer on Nationwide, The Money Programme (Deputy Editor) and Panorama. A key formative experience with great colleagues and editors. Towards the end of this time I joined the lobby for a Channel 4 to be supplied by independent producers. I hoped this would enable a new diversity in UK TV. Hence the name of the company founded by myself and Peter Donebauer -- Diverse -- and the title of our first programme, The Friday Alternative. Diverse started the career of many talented and well-known people.
