Diverse was one of the first of its kind: as its name implies our aim was to bring a new diversity to UK television. During my time as CEO, Diverse made a number of original and often controversial series -- The Friday Alternative, Diverse Reports, The New Enlightenment. Towards the end of this time I joined the lobby for a Channel 4 to be supplied by independent producers. I hoped this would enable a new diversity in UK TV. Hence the name of the company founded by myself and Peter Donebauer -- Diverse -- and the title of our first programme, The Friday Alternative. Diverse started the career of many talented and well-known people.
