Design manager Ed Cruz and I started a interaction design practice. We did contextual inquiry, UI design, concept testing, and usability testing for medical devices and consumer electronics. The UX work included a patient monitor for Johnson and Johnson, a blood plasma system for Cobe, a portable blood tester for Exigent, and a smartphone for Motorola (12 years before the iPhone). The combination UX+ID projects included a videogame system for Sega where I tried to design both UI and hardware as a cohesive whole.
