I undertook a research project titled “Peak Pressures Simulations”. The project was funded by BP, and focussed on the CFD modelling techniques available for tube rupture in a shell and tube heat exchanger. Initially, it was important for me to have a thorough understanding of the project aims and to develop a research plan. This involved gaining a solid understanding of heat exchangers, the CFD process, and analysing existing methods of marrying the two together. To further my understanding of the project, I spoke with a number of CFD companies over the telephone. Throughout the time spent on this project, I learnt the importance of skills such as; planning, time management, independent research, coherent communication and the ability to present my work.

Whilst studying for my final year of college I chose to take a part time job at a local greeting card store. During my time at the store it was important for me to a reliable and punctual employee, be friendly and welcoming to customers and to perform well in a busy environment.

Hygiene and cleanliness were of the upmost of importance when working at the local fast food store, with approachability and customer service also being important qualities.
