Ensured that customer needs were met, and the department was in compliance with standard operating procedures, regulatory agencies, and safety guidelines.* Directed the operations of more than 25 laboratory technicians in the manufacture, labeling, and distribution of 500 - 700 blood products daily.* Oversaw the hiring, training, development, evaluation, and competency of all staff. Five employees were promoted within the organization. * Reviewed, revised, and managed more than 400 forms, policies, and standard operating procedures within MasterControl eQMS.* Updated and maintained equipment calibration and maintenance records, and blood product quality control data. * Actively participated in all internal and external audits.* Monitored and reviewed monthly reports, expenditures, and overtime to not exceed the departmental budget by more than 10%. * Collaborated on an inter-departmental process improvement team of 10 - 15 individuals tasked to lean processes and minimize waste. Analyzed dozens of project ideas that resulted in significant process improvements with savings measured in thousands of dollars. * Project leader for the consolidation of blood product manufacturing between the Richmond, VA and Pittsburgh, PA locations. * Integral component of a six person team tasked with standardizing more than 300 regulated forms and procedures to increase efficiency between operating units in Pittsburgh, PA, Pittston, PA, and Rosemont, IL.
