I am David. My business analyst career has allowed me to work across a diverse range of industries, including telecommunications, fast manufacturing and consumer goods, insurance, state and federal government, extractive resources, emergency management, and higher education. My role is to understand the needs of business stakeholders, comprehend their goals, processes, and constraints, identify the challenges and opportunities, then communicate these findings and specify the changes to address them.I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of domains of knowledge, from telecommunications billing, budgeting, financial planning, managing licences, corporate responsibility, and lesson management (to recording critical observations and implementing the lessons). In addition, I have worked at a software company and enjoyed collaborating with clients to assist in achieving their goals with the product. These experiences have helped me better understand business operations, environments, and strategies. My most recent work in higher education has been fulfilling, focusing on curriculum management, scholarship lifecycles, and philanthropic gift management.This wide-ranging experience from various industries and work environments has enriched my perspective on business analysis. I have worked in I use this experience to provide detailed assessments and offer valuable insights. I am always looking for new challenges in different sectors where my analytical skills and business understanding can be put to effective use.I am enthusiastic about the field of business analysis. I have had the privilege to develop and co-convene a popular Business Analysis Special Interest Group at the Australian Computer Society, invited to review papers as a practitioner for IEEE Requirements Engineering Conferences, and served on the Australian Chapter of the IIBA board. The team discussed the availability, appropriateness and relevance of new technologies and setting these against the company's business and IT constraints.* Online Gift Registry for a Major Retail Chain, 2007 - Chrisco was in negotiation with a major Australian retail chain to outsource their gift registry. Interviewed management and consultants, refined the scope, wrote requirements, personas, usage scenarios, prototypes, and analysed inter-company data flow options.* Customer Relationship Management System, 2006 - this project was to replace the company's legacy CRM. The challenge was to lead stakeholders to take ownership of the new system and to prioritise their requirements. Activities included functional and non-functional requirements, personas, scenarios, Use Cases and prototypes. I adopted a "user centred design" approach, combining interaction design with requirements analysis. * Project Scoping, 2005 - conducted interviews and document review to write a new vision and scope document for a major development project. The project had already failed twice. This re-scoping was necessary to help refine the stakeholder expectations.

The system, which was intended for use by sales people in retail outlets and in call centres, presented a major challenge in that it was to incorporate and automate the cool-off legislation in each State.* On-line Wholesale Fulfilment System, 2003 - reviewed existing wholesale process and systems developing requirements for a new system, which included process improvements and new features including a secured online wholesale ordering. David went on to project-manage this development to completion.
