In this role I work together with Orica’s key surface and underground metalliferous mining customers on the east coast of Australia to find explosives and blasting solutions that improve the total cost of ownership at their operations. This encompasses both key account management responsibilities as well as business development for existing and greenfield mining projects.

In this role I am responsible for the provision of safe and sustainable explosive products for use by Orica’s customers, in line with regulatory requirements. I develop and implement the strategic direction for the portfolio and I maximise the profitability of the portfolio through sound pricing management principles.

As Technical Services Manager for East Coast Australia and New Zealand I managed a team of 18 blasting professionals who were responsible for implementing safe and efficient blasting solutions that delivered agreed value to Orica’s customers. With the help of key leaders within the team, I set the strategic direction for the team, and guided the team in its execution. I also managed the health of a supply agreement with a key strategic customer, through the development and execution of a continuous improvement program.

Singapore

Based in Singapore, I was responsible for working with Orica’s strategic customers from across the Asia region to identify, evaluate and execute blasting projects using Orica’s advanced product and service offerings. In this role I delivered projects with key customers in China, Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia. I also managed a small team of engineers from across the region, which necessitated the development of cross-cultural influencing, negotiation and team leadership skills.

In this role I was responsible for managing and executing high-risk blasting projects for Orica’s Quarry & Construction group in NSW. In this role I worked alongside a team of highly skilled shotfirers, surveyors and explosives delivery unit operators to ensure that all blasts were undertaken safely with a view to optimising our customer’s total cost of ownership.

Fitted for Work is a not-for-profit organisation operating since 2005 whose mission is to assist women experiencing disadvantage by helping them gain and maintain meaningful employment. As part of a syndicate group, a strategic review of the organisation was conducted with an objective to identify and increase sources of cash flow. At the conclusion of the project, several options were developed and presented to the CEO and General Manager, to evaluate and take forward.
