Responsible for developing a scalable, supportable, and secure Linux platform standard and accompanying infrastructure. As a contractor to BMC, I developed a Linux platform standard that exceeded their expectations and requirements, and set a new benchmark for integration in an automated provisioning process. I worked independently with very little management oversight and proactively engaged the necessary teams to develop a quality product that integrated with their existing systems and processes. The BMC Linux provisioning process is completely automated and can be completed remotely by inexperienced technicians. As a conclusion to the project, recommended next steps and strategic direction were presented which include a migration from existing Unix platforms, a migration from NIS to Active Directory, and highlights for managing Linux using BMC BladeLogic.

Responsible for providing strategic and tactical direction for the Dell IT Linux environment of 3,500+ globally distributed servers in 8 major locations.
