I’m an Information Technology Manager for South Australian surveying consultancy Alexander Symonds. With a Survey Technology Diploma and a Survey Technician Honours Diploma, I commenced my career in Canada where I initially developed skills in field surveying and drafting, particularly in cadastral, engineering and geodetic surveying disciplines.After moving to Australia, I joined Alexander Symonds where I have continued to develop my skillset, including the provision of cadastral information for major land development projects across South Australia such as Seaford Meadows, Mawson Lakes, Golden Grove, Blackwood Park, Blake’s Crossing and Westwood.I have also provided similar expertise for numerous projects for Housing SA (formerly the South Australian Housing Trust).My project experience includes the collection and reduction of electronically gathered field data, calculation of pegging data for subdivisions, design of roads from concept plans, customisation of AutoCAD, and computer-generated cadastral survey plans that meet Lands Titles Office requirements.As Alexander Symonds’ IT Manager, I maintain a complex network of work stations, laptops and servers, as well as providing technical support and advice on software and hardware.
