Throughout my career, I’ve directed and executed the development of advanced manufacturing technologies, taken new scientific concepts from concept to demonstration and developed industry-disrupting products. At SRI International and previously at PARC, I guided high-stakes projects with measurable bottom-line impact while cultivating strategic partnerships with government and private entities. As a leader, I bring innovative solutions to complex problems by building high-performing multidisciplinary science and engineering teams, and cultivating transparent, high-performance, and collaborative environments. I excel at developing and implementing creative solutions, finding the minimum proof of concept demonstration to derisk the technology and taking that through to products and demonstrations, delivering significant innovations in new spray technology, new manufacturing and mechanical/fluid systems. Throughout my career I’ve collaborated across industries and disciplines and developed strategic IP portfolios. I’m proud to be an inventor on over 75 patents. I am dedicated to building successful R&D pipelines by building strong teams, delivering best in class science and engineering, and creating strategic IP throughout research and product development activities. Key Innovations-Filament Extension Atomization (FEA) - A new way to create droplets from non-Newtonian and highly viscous liquids (think peanut butter). Applied to novel drug delivery, coatings, spray drying, and aerosols.-Electrohydrodynamic Film Patterning - Using a patterned electric field this technique can create multi-scale features in thin polymer films to create hierarchical materials, textures, and more.
