As a NPD manager, I coordinate product development of consumer electronics for iconic brands consumers love. I lead a cross-functional group of global stakeholders, ensuring collaboration thrives and roadblocks are removed throughout commercialization, from ideation to launch.

As a product manager for SanDisk Professional, I launched G-DRIVE PRO STUDIO SSD & managed product refreshes for G-DRIVE, G-DRIVE ArmorATD, and G-RAID 2. I collaborated heavily with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, sales, marketing, consumer insights) to validate pain points, design pro-grade solutions, and develop business cases aimed for professional customers in the media and entertainment market. I also provided support to the rest of the portfolio, including portfolio roadmap planning, competitive analyses, pain point & use case research, market analysis, product dashboard wireframes, and product documentation (user guides, landing page copy, packaging copy, and support articles).For other projects I authored a utility/design patent application, identified market gap opportunities, wrote user manuals, & conducted market research to gather consumer insights. I often developed & presented business cases to executives for product development investment & resource allocation, ultimately collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, program management, marketing, sales, & design teams to bring product concepts to life over the product lifecycle journey. I visited resellers, business partners, & trade show (NAB) to educate and evangelize long-term product vision and gain boots-on-the-ground feedback (voice of customer) from our target audience. I'm a heavy believer in teamwork and I was able to leverage my technical writing background to edit master string files, produce a style guide, & collaborate on UX flows for the ArmorLock desktop and mobile applications.

During the summer in the full time MBA program, I was an intern on the cost of customer dissatisfaction team in the global business org at Dell. I brought visibility to returned product processes in NA and their direct impact to unauthorized return spending. I interviewed and collaborated with cross-functional leaders to thoroughly understand and document operational flows, systems and tools, and key stakeholders. I also analyzed product return data in Power BI to tie in spending and returned order volume. At the conclusion of the project, I presented my insights to a room full of senior executives in the global business services organization. One unique aspect I greatly appreciated about this experience was the opportunity to volunteer over 12 hours at the Round Rock Serving Center, March of Dimes organization, and the Girl Scouts STEM Programming event at the Dell campus.

(Resigned to accept full-time MBA scholarship at UT Dallas.)As a technical writer, I collaborated cross-functionally to deliver documentation for optical transport blades and SDN products. During my first month on the documentation team, I spearheaded user manual development for netconf or network configuration protocol that was published on Fujitsu’s support platform. I learned how XML is constructed and how this protocol can automate provisioning and more across networks with many nodes. However, to better communicate with end users and understand their needs, I obtained approval for qemu software on my own PC to emulate virtual machines so I could practice replicating netconf commands (RPCs). Obtaining this knowledge not only helped me to accurately develop relevant steps for users, but also quickly complete iterations of the guide in only four weeks. At the end of the project, my manager asked me to present my work to the documentation team and to standardize access to the emulation software for the rest of the team.To implement rollout of qemu in our environment, I collaborated with IT to setup Unix work groups and security authorization to access servers. I standardized the process for retrieving and unpacking repositories through Bitbucket and Confluence, and even steps to setup the individual unix environment that was optimal for qemu. I captured all these steps in a user guide with pictures and detailed instructions, along with examples of neconf commands for specific Fujitsu devices. Although this was only an internal side project, the troubleshooting experience and exposure to repositories and servers was intriguing. What's more, a brand-new writer who used my guide without assistance, was able to not only setup and access qemu, but began following the netconf examples in the guide. The seamless integration of qemu proved to be invaluable to the documentation team and helped gain rapport with technical stakeholders.

While pursuing my associates degree I worked in the financial aid and veteran affairs department as a VA work study. I counseled veterans on education benefits and financial aid processes. I also trained and mentored new team members. The biggest achievement of my experience was assisting an audit of all the student veteran folders to help reduce processing time and give an accurate status on their benefits and education plan.

During my four years in the army as a medic, I gained invaluable leadership experience and communication skills through a variety of environments. I worked in an aid station and hospital to assist with patient visits, including physical examinations, minor surgical procedures, and electronic medical documentation in ahlta and chcs. I also taught emergency medicine classes to large groups of soldiers and earned certifications, including field sanitation and weapons ammunition handling. In 2011, my unit deployed to Iraq and I was responsible for the health and medical services of 30 soldiers in hazardous environments outside of the base. In 2012, I attended and graduated WLC or warrior leader course, a hands-on leadership development school for future leaders, and held a leadership position in a hospital that served 500 soldiers while supervising junior medics during my final year in the army. Essentially, I held a management position without the official rank/title, due to trust and qualities I exemplified to my leadership. Some of my miscellaneous achievements include maxing the army physical fitness test and joining the 1000lb club (deadlift, bench, squat). After fulfilling my active duty contract and receiving an honorable discharge, I immediately returned to school to use my benefits and pursue an education.
