As the Albany CEO Peer Group Chair for Vistage Worldwide, I work with CEOs and business owners in mid- to large-sized organizations. My role is to provide unbiased and unfiltered feedback, so they become better leaders and enhance both their firm's short- and long-term performance. Recently I was honored by my fellow board members to serve as Non-Executive Chairman of our Board. I am excited to be working with our new and energetic management team as both an advisor and coach. My principal focus will be the promotion of teamwork between management and the Board in leveraging our collective skills. The company’s primary business is the acquisition, redevelopment, ownership and management of regional dominant and urban-oriented shopping centers in the 40 largest metropolitan markets in the United States. It is an advocate for and actively embraces all aspects of its social responsibility through programs focused on ESG, demonstrating that commitment through its proactive diversified board member composition.

I joined the Board in 2009 and was instrumental in implementing a number of governance and reporting changes, while advancing capital-structure decisions that improved the company's balance sheet, reduced leverage, and improved liquidity and portfolio diversity.As a member and Chairman of the company's Audit Committee, I advanced a program to promote contemporaneous financial education for our committee members and an environment of reporting and communication transparency, and the implementation of all elements of ESG.

Born from Mirbeau’s experience in the spa business, we have recently launched a new endeavor known as Spa Mirbeau. I recently joined the Mirbeau Hospitality team in the formation of SPA MIRBEAU, a company where we look to capture the rich and relaxing elements of our Inn & Spa properties in a day retreat setting. In full replication of our property spas and French country bistros, each SPA MIRBEAU location will provide the ultimate spa experience where our guests can totally escape, unplug, relax, rejuvenate and renew both mind and body. Each location will feature our world-class spa amenities and services; including French inspired dining, our popular Club Mirbeau fitness membership, full scale contemplation area and Aqua-Terrace.

Albany, New York Area

For more than 14 years, I have been an active principal in Briarwood Capital, a real estate development company with a focus on single-family residential development and leisure hospitality, through joint ventures with real estate development partners. Our projects include a mix of custom and semi-custom residential housing developments. A recent hospitality project includes the Mirabeau Inn & Spa in Plymouth, MA — a luxury resort combining the amenities of a boutique country inn, world-class spa and nationally acclaimed fine dining, all with the elegant comforts of a wine country estate. The Mirabeau resort collection features Inns situated in the storybook village of Skaneateles, NY, the Pine Hills community of Plymouth, MA, and a new property underway in Rhinebeck, NY.

Greater Philadelphia Area

In this role, I provided senior management leadership and Board guidance during a time of economic uncertainty. I led the company through a financial repositioning, providing leadership succession following the sudden and unexpected death of its CEO and led the Company through a successful merger during the “Great Recession.” American Financial Realty Trust operated as a real estate investment trust (REIT) in the United States. The company was acquired by Gramercy Property Trust in April 2008. Before being acquired, it acquired and operated properties leased to regulated financial institutions, such as commercial banks, thrifts and credit unions.

I taught a combination of corporate finance, money and banking and strategic management courses. One of the interesting experiences of being an adjunct professor is the inquisitiveness of students who want to know how “book” knowledge relates to “real” life execution; an inside look at how capital market transactions are executed gave life and purpose to what was otherwise just arithmetic mechanics.Siena College is a private, Catholic, liberal arts college located in Loudonville, New York.

I joined the company when it was private and led its IPO and subsequent secondary stock and preferred stock offering. During this time, I also built an organizational structure and management process to serve as a foundation for long-term growth.SL Green Realty Corp., an S&P 500 company and New York City's largest office landlord, is a fully integrated real estate investment trust (REIT) that is focused primarily on acquiring, managing and maximizing value of Manhattan commercial properties.As of December 31, 2016, SL Green held interests in 127 Manhattan buildings totaling 47.8 million square feet. This included ownership interests in 28.1 million square feet of Manhattan buildings and debt and preferred equity investments secured by 19.7 million square feet of buildings.

As the COO, CFO and Senior Development Partner, I established and led a development team to permit, design and build more than 3,000,000 square feet of regional shopping centers. I oversaw the financial and financing functions of this $3.5+ billion retail real estate firm, repositioned the company's balance sheet during a major economic downturn and served as a "trusted advisor" to the founding partner.The Pyramid Company’s vision is to create an enduring, forward-thinking and dynamic entrepreneurial organization. During my time with Citicorp, I served as Founder and President of a de novo community bank and was responsible for all aspects of banking operations including marketing strategy, credit review and approval, regulatory compliance and business development.
