RCTC was created by state law and consolidated Rochester Community College and MN Riverland Technical College - Rochester in one institution. Riverland has been created in 1991 as a regional technical college merging campuses in Austin, Faribault, and Rochester MN. The Rochester campus of Riverland was formerly Rochester Technical College.
