I enjoy the field of education, while helping others to fulfill their potential. I was appointed as the principal of four schools in need of academic assistance. I was able to retain and hire quality staff and remediate the deficit scores of all student categories within one year. Each of these campuses earned a rating of Exemplary or Recognize status from the state of Texas in the first year under my leadership. I initiated the first student, parent, staff, and community curriculum panel in our district. The panel designs educational experiences for all students. The conversations facilitated within the panel educate all involved and critique our programs, while encouraging true partnership between home and school. I have been able to transform what some may have called a very chaotic and undisciplined campus, into a transformational school that offers unique and varied programs aligned to campus and state data. I am highly creative and one who thirsts for knowledge. I love to collaborate and work with others as we create community-based schools for the future.

It’s a nonfiction book related to the gun violence targeted at our children and the deafening silence from our religious leaders. This book also offers a safety toolkit for parents as they make the critical decision to leave their babies in the care of our schools. If there is an establishment, like the church, it should be them running into this heated battle because they preach about love and the need to care for our brothers. Have you heard their position on assault rifles? Now, more than at any other time in our history, we see the urgency to act. I see a world filled with conflict, political unrest, food insecurity, and gun violence. How many more children must die before we say, “Enough.” After much prayer and reflection, I choose to believe there’s a greater purpose for my life. I have the power to influence and bring about change for the good of others. I’ve spent the last two years writing a book about my extensive years in the field of education and the conflict I now find myself in as I analyze my Christian walk with like believers. We can and must do more than offer up empty prayers.
