Ms. Ramirez is an Engineer with a background in chemical engineering. She has over 15 years of experience in the areas of transuranic (TRU) waste transportation, characterization, mathematical modeling, and the preparation of regulatory documentation related to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) TRU waste characterization program. Ms. Ramirez provides statistical and metrical performance indicator support for Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) TRU inventory. In addition to aiding in the development of the overall strategy for disposition of LANL TRU waste, Ms Ramirez identifies and categorizes problematic TRU legacy waste into solution packages. Ms. Ramirez is an expert in MS Access database development. Ms. Ramirez has supported the development of acceptable knowledge (AK) documentation and associated data evaluation for various sites participating in the WIPP Central Characterization Project (CCP). Ms. Ramirez has also supported to the National TRU Waste Transportation Program in providing site-specific evaluations required for transport in the TRUPACT-II and TRUPACT-III. Ms. Ramirez has worked on Phase I and Phase II site assessments and on LANL subsurface chemical characterizations of a material disposal area (MDA) and subsurface and groundwater investigations of a solid waste management unit (SWMU). Ms. Ramirez is trained in construction quality management. Ms. Ramirez has field experience that includes unexploded ordnance (UXO) field investigations, Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) site investigations, monitoring well installations, and groundwater and soil sample collections at contamination sites.Specialties: Engineering, Waste Management, Information Technology
