  I manage operations at Young Moore and Henderson and I co-lead the employment/workers'​ compensation litigation team. Daily, I advise and defend employers in employment related matters and workers'​ compensation claims. My experience includes counseling clients, investigating claims, responding to EEOC and DOL charges and representation of employers in litigated matters at mediations, hearings and appeals before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, North Carolina Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. I guide clients through employment related issues including handbook review and preparation, employment contract drafting and review, and FMLA and ADA implications and application. I regularly speak at seminars for employers related to employment law and workers'​ compensation issues. After law school, I clerked at the North Carolina Court of Appeals with the Hon. Jack Cozort and the Hon. Donald Smith. While at Wake Forest University School of Law, I was inducted into the Order of the Barristers and served as Associate Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board. I attended Mary Washington College in my home state of Virginia, where I graduated magna cum laude in 1992. I have two sons. I feel strongly about children's health education, including nutrition and am glad to serve on the Board of the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education which seeks to educate North Carolina's children (and parents) about healthful living.
