World Traveler
After many years of penny saving, my husband, Patrick and I decided to take a year and a half work sabbatical to do some world traveling aboard our sailboat Deep Playa. We left our home port of Seattle and sailed down the western coast of the United States and stopping along the way to visit various ports and cities. After leaving US waters we made landfall in Cabo San Lucas, California Baja Sur, Mexico where we soaked up the Mexican culture, food and began to learn Spanish. The following season, we sailed up into the Sea of Cortez visiting the remote parts of Baja California, islands and anchorages. After venturing further south down the coast of the western Mexico, we spent 12 months living aboard our boat in the small towns of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Punta de Mita, Riviera Nayarit. During the summer months, while it was too hot in Mexico, we embarked on a cross country trip aboard a land yacht (RV) from the pacific northwest down to southern California, across the south and finally ending our adventure in our home towns in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. After my world educational and sabbatical concluded, I was excited to revive my professional career and apply my newly-learned skills to my career.
