•Serve as the academic advisor for undecided students and assist students in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals.•Serve as the back-up advisor for programs offered off-campus.•Advise students on academic and career opportunities; identify the educational and career options appropriate for each student and assists with the analysis of each option, including possible outcomes.•Serve as the liaison with our community college partner counselors and advisors.•Identify options for students to satisfy degree requirements and evaluate and make recommendations to student's program of study.•Participate in recruiting events.•Maintain student files and records; document all pertinent student information and update advising status on the University’s computerized information system.•Interpret and explain college and university policies and procedures; participate in preparation of orientations and present academic information to new students and parents during orientation.•Evaluate transfer transcripts from other academic institutions for equivalencies and application to degree program.•Assist in recruitment of potential students by advising them of general academic requirements of a specific program; describe courses and disseminate information.•Assist students with admission and registration/provides guidance in course selection in keeping with the student's interests, values and abilities. •Assist in the training and support of program academic advisors across the state.•Serve as the liaison for MACRAO related questions both by students and program advisors.•Be knowledgeable in CLEP, AP and dual enrollment.•Work directly with students with academic issues as appropriate (eg. Advising related to specific situation such as probation, dismissal and appeals).

•Oversee and supervise Student Services staff including; Career Services Manager, Financial Aid Officer, Admissions, Registration and Desk Student Services Representatives.•Provide administrative supervision and support in research, planning, and implementation of all areas student services for Ferris Statewide and online. •Responsible for assessing student needs in order to plan for the future and to assure that Student Services meets the needs of a changing student population. •Implement and maintain online student orientation.•Manage Employer Tuition Reimbursement program.•Develop a University-wide co-curricular agenda and coordinate social, cultural and educational programming. Plan, implement and evaluate programs designed to foster student involvement, student leadership, and student satisfaction. Develop leadership programs for both individual students and student organizations; coordinate student involvement in community service.
