Appointed to serve as the Chief Information Officer and an integral member of the Executive Leadership Team for the Florida Department of Corrections. The Department has over 102,000 offenders incarcerated and over 152,000 on probation, making it the third largest correctional system in the United States. The Department’s Office of Information Technology provides all technology, infrastructure and application development support for the major Correctional Institutions, Community Corrections offices, Road Prisons, Work Release Centers, Re-Entry Centers and Administrative Offices throughout Florida. Additionally, the Office of Information Technology provides all IT services to the Florida Parole Commission. Duties and accomplishments include: Executive Leader for the Office of Information Technology, providing a full spectrum of mission critical 24/7/365 services to over 25,000 employees in over 250 locations throughout the state with three bureaus, 180 staff and a $28 million dollar annual budget out of a $2.1 billion dollar agency budget. This included statewide administration of IT budget and contract management, FBI/FDLE CJIS security compliance, legislative budget requests, information security, disaster recovery, strategic planning, inventory management, facility planning and deployment, purchasing and procurement, travel, records retention and personnel management.
