In my first job out of college I built canoes. In my second job I taught English. One is about precision, the other interpretation. Both run on process, possibility, and collaboration. I bring these ideas to everything I do. I’ve worked on content and technology initiatives inside large companies, managed strategic planning and business development, designed training and risk management projects, created curriculum and direct service programs with schools and educational leaders focused on college and career readiness, tech and literacy, student voice, and leadership development. Things I’ve built and worked on: mobile tools and collaboration platforms for classrooms and professional development networks, digital media projects, after-school initiatives, museum engagement programs, STEM2STEAM projects, internships and service learning, public-private partnerships, teacher training. I know the importance of a principal, a teacher leader, an engaged community partner, a vibrant professional learning community, and the value of interdisciplinary production teams that are deadline-driven and always learning. I understand the relationships and institutional levers that let great work flourish in and out-of-school, and I’m motivated by the creativity that drives innovative teaching and learning -- and by the persistence needed to make it stick.
