Designed and implemented an XML based database for Serco’s in-house Risk Management Framework (RMF)tool using C#.- Allowed users to save and open projects from a file rather than a DB. Used a custom file extension, anXML schema, and auto generated classes to parse the XML data into C# objects. This was a highlyrequested feature by the customer.- File content was encrypted using a password based, FIPS approved, AES 256 algorithm. The password wassalted using a random generated 256 bit salt and used RFC2898 to derive the key and initializationvector.- Implemented as a C# class library and created a proof of concept application to demonstrate how thelibrary works. Coached my team through the implementation of the library throughout the RMF tool.Upgraded message encryption from 3DES to AES 192 on an embedded anti-personnel munitions systemplatform to meet the latest Army encryption standards.- Activities included: research on encryption libraries, sifting through system documentation, navigating amassive C code base, modifying an AES library to be compatible with the target hardware, splicing thecode into the existing code base, and testing successful implementation.- Created a simple Python Tkinter application that automates the Formal Qualified Testing (FQT)procedures for the API commands that control the embedded system. The Python application speedsup the process of running the FQT API procedures from a few days to a few hours.- Developed a training software in Electron to assist soldiers with simulating contaminants for the Army’s Stryker Nuclear Biological Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicle to detect. This also included development in C++ to build a collision detection algorithm so the training vehicle could detect when it was in range of the contaminate
