About Dean Smith

On June 6th I started my new career as a part-time Continuing and Technical Education instructor at FPC, after retiring 3 months ago from my position as Engineering Manager at the National Oilwell Varco manufacturing facility in Borger. I am really looking forward to applying my 35 years of mechanical engineering knowledge and skills to students attending Frank Phillips College.Update; As of February 1st, 2021 I am now a full time Continuing and Technical Education Instructor at Frank Phillips College. I cannot thank the new FPC President, Dr Forgey, and the Dean of CTE, Taryn Fraley, enough! Also I would like to thank my former employer, National Oilwell Varco for allowing me to transition from private industry into the academic profession through their generous VERP early retirement plan back in 2016.
