Dean Royal is a Happiness Engineer at Automattic. Colleagues describe them as "Dean and I work together on Team Sparta within the Happiness division at Automattic and he embodies the core tenets of the Automattic Creed. https://automattic.com/creed/ Dean assisted in getting the sales pilot project up and running in early 2019 and he did a great job making sure the new sales team were trained from a support perspective. He did all of this while remaining a productive and helpful member of Team Sparta and assisting hundreds of WordPress.com users each week. I feel very fortunate to have been placed on a team with Dean and, while I have many colleagues whose work I admire, Dean is one of the Automatticians I most try to emulate.
