I have over 30 years of demonstrated ancillary and nursing leadership in a small rural hospital and skilled nursing facility. Recognizing and acknowledging that the strength of an organization is within its people, I worked with and coached staff nurses in the development of a shared governance model including a formal nursing peer review process. Through this platform, we successfully implemented many evidence based patient care initiatives which are the foundation for the high quality care provided at our hospital. Recipient of the ISMP Cheers Award, Joint Commission Accreditation, several Joint Commission Top Performer on Quality Measures awards, and have achieved nine consecutive Leapfrog "A's". We were the 10th hospital to received the Lifepoint Health National Quality Leader designation through achieving a broad range of criteria that demonstrates the capacity to continuously measure and improve quality and patient safety. I have been a part of a team that has successfully negotiated numerous professional and support staff union contracts. Worked with staff in development/re-design of staffing models that support both safe patient care and efficient use of resources. Participated in and led departments through the successful transition from a non-profit, community health care facility to a member of a large, for-profit health care system. I have the ability to perform in a rapidly changing environment.
