My experience as an Electronic Technician has been a rewarding career. I especially enjoyed working on Projects that gave me a chance to work with Design Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Computer Engineers and Programmers. My position as a Biomedical Technician gives me a chance to work in many areas of the hospital, which gives me a variety of equipment to work on. Mostly every problem is different from the last, which gives me a chance to expand my knowledge. The main areas I work in, is Labor and Delivery, and the Blood Lab.Presently I'm working on another certification by AAMI, but I'll keep that as a goal for right now. At this time I'm enjoying the ARES and OTVARC Ham clubs as a hobby.

Presently my expertise is working in the L&D and the Blood Bank departments. I perform preventative maintenance(PM) on medical equipment. My job duties are to test, and repair equipment. The difference in this position compared to my previous positions, is that I cover many different areas of the hospital and many difference pieces of medical equipment. I'm more involved with interfacing with the staff in each department and I have developed a close customer relationship.

My job was to build AutomaticTest Equipment(ATE), from component level to system level, which included testing, troubleshooting, and working with schematics. I performed my own repairs on each of the system boards, except for BGA repairs. Each board was individually tested, using test software, that was written in Perl, to perform functional testing. The boards were integrated into a system cage, which involved a higher level of software testing, written in C++ and Java, to tune and calibrate all the boards together as a system. Each ATE system was basically used by Engineers for Research and Development to design new Integrated Chips(IC's), such as Microprocessor, which can be called a System on a Chip(SOC). This particular job gave me the chance to work with the Design and Software Engineers, and work with the latest Test Equipment. This was the Leading Edge of Technology, at that time.
Reno, Nevada Area
Worked on many different Liquid Chromatography Machines from the Test Bench, troubleshooting and component level repair. I also helped the Manufacturing area build each type of equipment, from the Chassis to the final product before Final Production testing.
