With extensive leadership experience, Deborah L. Cooper has led corporate and non-profit management efforts, practiced community engagement, provided programming and marketing expertise and led capacity-building efforts for a variety of organizations. Deborah focuses on transforming organizations by building organizational infrastructures, creating successful programs to support community initiatives and improving service delivery. She has primarily worked with health and human service organizations within the nonprofit and philanthropic sector. Her greatest achievements have been in building nonprofit leadership and management capacity to better improve communities. Her most recent experience includes Community Affairs for SSM, President of Nonprofit Services Center developing leadership and capacity building programs, Vice President/Chief Program Officer for the MO Foundation for Health supporting organizations statewide and Executive Director of Comprehensive Health Center serving north St. Louis. Other work experience includes marketing, business development, contracting and sales within the business sector; IBM, NOVO and HealthCare USA. Deborah had the privilege of serving on nonprofit professional Boards: St. Louis Regional Health Commission, Webster University Business Advisory Board, St. Louis Artworks and the Skinker-DeBaliviere Community Council. She currently serves on the governing boards of the Women’s Safe House and St. Louis Efforts for AIDS, serving as Chair of Strategic Planning and 2nd Vice President and Advocacy Committee respectively. Deborah is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
