I am a Hospitality Business student at the Singapore Institute of Technology. In the final year of my diploma studies, I undertook a six-month internship as a front office agent position at The Warehouse Hotel in Singapore. I had continued an additional seven months in the same hotel once my internship was completed. I was pleased to be provided with many opportunities to apply the knowledge gained and practice the skills I had learned during school to solve real work problems within the hotel, not limited to the front office department. As a Front Office Intern, I was a part of the front facing team to satisfy the guest needs and to ensure that everything in the hotel was running smoothly, in accordance with the preferences of the various guests. I was responsible for checking in and out guests, answering the enquiries of inhouse guests and passer-by’s, answering phone calls, delivering amenities when necessary, helping to make new reservations and assist with the operations of the lobby bar.My degree studies and internship have equipped me with the proficiency to operate the OPERA and MIRCOS efficiently and with ease. I have also developed communication and multitasking skills, as well as great teamwork while also being able to work independently to solve the guest problems. I am eager to hear about potential career opportunities, hence, I would be pleased to chat about any job openings in the hospitality industry.
