Equally vital is the teacher's belief in every student's success as a learner, friend, community member. When each student is seen and valued by a skilled and caring teacher, you create a community of trust and genuine learning. The curriculum grounds students in the essential knowledge of a subject and it also allows for discovery in directions not planned for. The relationship formed by the teacher and her students enables worthy pursuits of discovery to take hold as questions and ideas are shared and become real goals to explore.
