First and foremost, I love planning Tradeshows, Corporate Meetings, Social Events, and the list can go on. I thrive in the hustle-bustle that meeting planning is all about. In 1995 I started my career at a Boston Hotel, which is the base of my career experience. I had two amazing mentors, one who was the Catering Manager, and the other was the Senior Convention Services Manager. They both helped develop my skills in Meeting Planning, Working with and understanding Budgets, Hotel Operations, Beo's, Contracts, Negotiations, work with Drayage companies; the list can go on, but I think you get the picture. There were many long hours and frustrations along the way. However, I realized that after each skill I accomplished, I truly enjoyed this career path. I continued in the hospitality field, where I thrived as a Convention Services Manager and then into a Group Sales Manager position. I am internally grateful for this experience. As my life evolved, my career path needed to follow. I left the hospitality industry to work for a Fulfillment Company, providing Meeting and Tradeshow Logical planning for our internal financial clients. I managed our client's tradeshow equipment, purchased inventory for hard and soft goods, booth designs, and tradeshow logistics. This position had many moving parts; it truly educated me further on planning events. Due to the company being sold, I needed to move on. I asked myself now, what do I do? I found a home as a Strategic Meetings and Congresses Assistant Planner working for a company that focuses on the pharmaceutical industry. In this position, I used my meeting planning skills but also focused on daily learning from this industry. Each day was something new to learn about Compliance, Direct Health Care Provider Contact and how Pharmaceutical Companies need Advisory Board Meetings, and other meetings to get feedback on their research so their products can progress. It was a fantastic experience for me that added to my career knowledge.
