Arts & Culture reporter with 'The Examiner' newspaper in Launceston, Tasmania. I have worked at the masthead for a year, covering everything in the artistic and cultural space in Tasmania where the newspaper is based. My work has been long- and short-form, and has covered issues, general reportage and profiles. As a lifelong reader and lover of the arts – particularly those of literature and the visual mediums of theatre, film, television, and painting – it was an extraordinary privilege during my tenure to reinvigorate the masthead’s cultural coverage which had stymied in the previous decadePrior, I worked for Core Publishing, a company based in the Whitsundays, Queensland, Australia. My duties there encompassed writing for two bi-monthly publications, utilising my skills as a copywriter and a travel writer. On the side, I am a freelance writer and contributor to the South Australian news company InDaily. There, I publish film and theatre reviews in their new sub-publication InReview. As a side project, I run a small photography business. In my studies, I completed a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of South Australia, with a sub-major in Creative Writing. My work has been of published in 'The Examiner', Core Life Magazine, Tripping Magazine, the Mackay and Whitsunday Life Newspapers, and InDaily and InReview.My passions lie in literature and the craft of writing, particularly with short fiction, although I have dabbled in longer forms. I am also a published poet who is always looking to improve in every facet.
