I created content promoting the ISG Group as a building services company uniquely positioned within the global market. This includes coordinating photography and content for the company’s websites, writing and editing high-quality copy, and providing general support to the marketing team.

I built graphical and textual content for sainsburys.co.uk. This included creating promotional banners and managing assets, copy and metadata in accordance with website content planning. I also liaised with the merchandising and marketing teams to ensure a consistent customer message.

I was responsible for writing and promoting the stories spanning SOE’s activities as a membership organisation for engineers. These included articles, press releases, e-shots, speeches, social media posts, print adverts and posters. I also wrote and edited SOE’s membership magazine, created e-newsletters, maintained and grew SOE’s social media presence, and supported the Marketing Manager and Designer in all areas of their work. In my time at SOE I refreshed and refocused its magazine, greatly increased positive PR coverage, and worked on new advertising campaigns.

I used serious attention to detail and a hatred for loose ends to carry out high-quality verbatim transcription for gerontological researchers from the National University of Ireland, Galway and the University of Limerick; as well as Hot Press music journalist Olaf Tyaransen. Here’s what Olaf had to say about me: “Her work was always excellent, and I couldn't recommend her highly enough. Frankly, I wish she was still living in Ireland.”During this time I also stepped in to fill a last-minute vacancy and wrote and edited an entire local government magazine (Council Magazine) in 28 days. I interviewed and sourced stories from councillors, legislators, and town planners, pulling together a 200-page issue focusing on informed decision-making. Afterwards I slept a lot.

Dublin

I wrote and edited news and features for three consumer lifestyle magazines: Confetti, Prudence and House & Home. Coming up with fresh ideas for stories, I interviewed hairdressers, photographers and personal shoppers for advice columns, travel pieces and buyers’ guides. I also learned more than I thought possible about wallpaper, manicures and wedding etiquette.

I proofread, carried out picture research and cleared copyright permissions for trade and third-level educational books. I also supported the Commissioning and Managing Editors in their roles, taking care of everything from general admin duties to data entry.
