On staff at Ascension Medical Group as a senior financial analyst, expanding my prior role. I worked with Indiana Medical Group practices to ensure the providers are compensated appropriately per their contracts. I was also the budget lead, communicating with managers and directors to build budgets for the next fiscal year. I was a part of the rolling forecast team, which builds a 18 month rolling budget for Ascension Medical Group. I worked on data requests and analysis on the financials, specifically provider compensation and production. I learned to juggle many hats here in Ascension Medical Group, providing reliable work in a timely manner. I enjoy the variety of requests and analysis that I did in my role at Ascension.

I began at Ascension Medical group as a financial analyst. I worked with providers within the Medical Group in calculating any bonus pay due to production. I help managed bonuses to be paid biweekly. I have been involved in the process of building the budget for all of St. Vincent Medical Group as well as pulling data for outside consultants. Here at St. Vincent Medical Group, my excel skills have expanded and I continually gain experience working as individual and as group member. One of the greatest traits I have learned and love about working at St. Vincent Medical Group thus far is to be flexible by being a helping hand in different projects under different rolls.

I worked as a tax staff accountant Blue & Co., LLC at the downtown Indianapolis location for almost three years. Their downtown location specalizes in the healthcare field and I worked mostly with Dentists. I helped Dentists with their start-up quickbooks and payroll all the way to their tax returns. I was also involved in non-profit hospital and foundation tax returns as well. I really enjoyed being able interact with Blue clients, see their business grow, and ease their minds about upcoming taxes. I worked part-time as a tax intern for a local accounting firm spring of my senior year of college. I was able to gain some great experience interacting with clients and providing customer service. I helped file individual returns using Lacerte 2011. I was able to become comfortable using the software by printing and help processing returns as well. One of the larger projects I was able to participate in was helping one of the partners research and file on Kankakee Habitat for Humanity sales tax exemption and grants. It was great hands on experience that I was able to build confidence and carry on to my current job.

Summer going into my senior year of college I interned at my local hospital in the accounting department. It was great first-time experience in a business atmosphere. When I joined as an intern the accounting department was transitioning to use a new reporting software. I updated financial reports from the old software onto Horizon ERP. At the beginning of the month I created closing entries for the prior month. August and September are big months for the hospital because budgets are created for the next year. I revised payroll budgets and budget processing spreadsheets. This gave me great experience in using formulas within Excel. I balanced bank reconcilations and cash flows for departments. I was able to attend and interact in foundation and staff meetings. It was a great experience in industry accounting and was able to form several computer skills from this internship.
