We build and manage solutions covering everything from back-end serverless infrastructure and code, through to front end systems. Along with various integrations to logistics, warehouse and customer focused applications, APIs and websites along the way.

For 5 years from 2016 onwards I was working as a self employed contractor trading as "Systemic" in the Waikato region. I offered software engineering services for web application development and related systems during that time for a number of clients, including Affco, Waikato Regional Council, LayerX Ltd, COMS Systems Ltd, PAN Media and Aeronet Software.

Working as a Software Engineer for LayerX at their Innovation Park site in Ruakura, Hamilton. In this role I've been involved with analysis, system design, requirements gathering, and ultimately development and testing of numerous bespoke software, web and mobile application projects and services for both legacy and new systems.Technologies used have been primarily web-oriented and include the usual suspects: JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, backbone.js, CSS and PhoneGap with C#, SQL Server, IIS and ColdFusion used variously on the back-end.

Working with a bunch of web developers, a/v and video-conferencing technology professionals on Cisco's Telepresence Content Server recording and streaming products.In particular my role is to work with other web specialists to develop the product’s web interface. We employ a largely open-source stack of technologies from back-end framework through to client-side JS libraries. In addition I have responsibility for leading a small group of developers who build rich browser-based media players to play the recorded media, and have led the design of the player architecture and APIs.

Working as eLearning Technologist in the Waikato Centre for eLearning at Waikato University. Ongoing customisation of Moodle, upgrades and maintenance of it and experimenting with new modules and addons. Also spending more time on project teams evaluating and deploying tools and solutions for enterprise eLearning needs.In this role I was performing Moodle development and was the author of the Browser Capability and Course-Files Directory-Tree blocks and am currently the maintainer of the Dialogue Module.

Key responsibilities for this role were to monitor, assess and select appropriate web technologies to improve and extend the University's web presence, develop new functionality and capability, maintain regular contact with clients and users of the web services the team was responsible for. I was required to maintain a professional understanding of various web technologies, platforms, languages and standards. In particular Perl, PHP, Java, JavaScript, AJAX, RSS, XML, XSLT, CSS and their support and provision across hosting platforms, consuming devices and browsers.I was involved in a technical advisory and critique capacity in many significant University wide projects including the eLearning platform selection process, the "Moodle uptake" team, multiple web server infrastructure upgrade projects, a campus-copy MFD/document management project, iWaikato portal product selection and deployment and the ITS content-management system selection.
