I am a skilled researcher with a history of working in the social sciences, particularly the development sector. I approach social issues with an interdisciplinary approach as development includes sociology/anthropology, economics, political science and gender studies. I have extensive experience of working in the grassroots having had worked in rural Chhattisgarh and urban slums of Delhi. I have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and also have experience in creating and structuring a project on my own. Since I worked in Chhattisgarh in collaboration with PRADAN, I also have a good understanding of the development sector. I am happy to travel extensively, especially to the field sites. My M.A. dissertation titled ‘Locating gender in developmental policies’ was a secondary resource research on sexual and reproductive health policies in India with a focus on ‘gender mainstreaming’ since the 1994 UN Cairo Conference and the 1995 UN Beijing Conference and assessing how mainstreamed gender really has been in Indian policies.My M.Phil. thesis titled ‘The young in the rural: Rethinking development through gendered relationalities’ was a primary resource research work done with young women aged 14-24 in a Gond-dominated village, Raipara, in central Chhattisgarh around issues of loneliness and sorrow in adolescence.For my M.Phil. research work, I conducted gendered and psychoanalytic PRAs, implemented tangible processes of development, collected and verified information and documents related to the research and conducted semi-structured interviews and focussed-group discussions. Communicating with not only the community but also with other stakeholders are things that I have learnt in the process.
