Leading design teams provides a constant flow of challenges to feed my passion: solving problems. Most importantly, human problems. With so much uncertainty in today's society, human-centered design can help people feel empowered and accomplished in their day. Good design can help us have a better world. It might be cheesy, but it's true. In my time at Allstate I have built and led our mobile design team to rebuild our constellation of apps into one unified experience, often striking a balance between design thinking leader, people manager and practitioner. In addition to our insurance products, my team has evolved Allstate's telematics programs like Drivewise and Milewise into industry leading products. In all these efforts my teams are joined at the hip with our product and development partners while leaning on our user research experts to constantly hear the voice of the customer. Only in that way can we successfully build world class experiences. I'm currently helping lead teams to help drive Allstate's transformational growth in the telematics space, where we're designing future experiences for automobile and personal mobility.As a people manager it's important to me that my team is engaged, challenged and moving in a positive direction in their career. I take coaching and mentoring seriously and put as much effort into solving people problems as I do those of design. My creative passions are centered around communication. I enjoy writing and art and have published a number of graphic novels and short stories and written one novel. These things tie into my love of learning. My position today is a result of constant learning and self-improvement, something that I am also passionate about. I believe in the end product and experiences are about people, and only by being human-centered can we find true and meaningful success.
