CurrentThe Major Projects Division of the Office of Public Works is primarily responsible for the implementation of a programme of high-value, prioritised and approved works. Major Projects is committed to providing a first class service to its clients and to the many public users who experience the buildings and the environments that it creates. The estimated value of the projects currently undertaken by Major Projects is in the region of €860m. Major Projects consists of professional, technical and administrative staff involved in the provision of design, technical, project management, procurement, financial management, budgetary control, contract award and management, conservation and advisory services for Government and State Agencies' building and property needs, including the care of Heritage buildings owned and occupied by the State.As an Assistant Principal Officer, I lead and manage a team that undertakes the multiple roles and responsibilities required as part of the delivery of a programme of works. Key responsibilities of my role are:• Public procurement of consultants, contractors and services • Delivery of construction projects in accordance with PSC, CWMF and Built Environment Regulations• Leading and developing high performing diverse teams• Financial management, Financial Reporting, payments, etc.• Budgetary Control• Project Governance, Oversight and Reporting• Undertaking all the contractual duties of the Client during a project• Undertaking the statutory Client Representative duties required under Health and Safety Legislation and under Building Control Amendment Regulation (BCAR)• Parliamentary matters such as PQs, Topical matters, Commencement matters, Representations • Press queries, FOI requestsChair OPW Association of Higher Civil and Public Servants (AHCPS) Branch and member of the AHCPS National Executive
