The group, who have been working together on herbicide resistance for 10 years, came together in October 2018 to develop a new vision to tackle herbicide resistance. The vision includes the catalyzation of grass roots communities and creating alignment on the sustainable management of weeds and pests. Pilot projects focused on localized weed resistance challenges were launched during the spring of 2019 across the United States. Field tours gathered data during the summer and the fall of 2019 to analyze data and create next steps. The emphasis is to develop local practical solutions through identifying and engaging all stakeholders within a community.
