I develop and facilitate community-based parent and child programs in various rural and First Nations Communities; focus is on promoting literacy and strength-based parenting programs, including Nobody’s Perfect, Triple P (child and teen), Handle With Care, GIFT (Growing Indigenous Families Together), and various BookMates literacy curriculae. I will develop community specific programs upon request.

SMART Recovery - Self Management And Recovery Training - teaches tools and strategies to help individuals on their recovery journey. Many of the techniques are skills that can be used after the person has fully recovered to deal with future problems and achieve more satisfaction and balance in life.I was instrumental in bringing this program to the south Manitoba area and continue to facilitate for the Brandon SMART Recovery Program, as well as introducing the program to surrounding communities.

I am a Canadian Ski Patrol with Advanced First Aid Training, as well as a member of my local Fire Department. My husband and I own and operate a small organic grain farm; certified with OPAM since 1995. I am office staff, bookkeeper and machinery operator.

I developed residential settings for Deaf-plus children and adults, ensuring that homes met and maintained Community and Social Service licensing. I was responsible for recruiting and hiring staff as well as being on call to facilities 24/7. I was part of the multi-disciplinary team who developed programs and strategies for assisting residents in developing their optimum level of independence.
