• Supervises preparation of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for new construction, modernization, and relocatable buildings; assists in organizing services necessary for construction.• Coordinates and attend meetings between District staff and outside consultants during the design process; works closely with and acts as District liaison to consultants in the preparation of design and construction documents for projects.• Administers contracts; evaluates schedules; monitors progress of the contractors on projects; ensures that project deadlines are met.• Supervises support assigned personnel.• Acts as District liaison for labor compliance issues related to construction.• Acts as District liaison to public agencies involved in providing school planning, utility and construction services.• Researches and assists in procurement of data for the preparation of District standards for buildings, systems and equipment.• Reviews design and working drawings for compliance with District standards to assure they are appropriate and complete.• Assists in the development of planning guides and scoping documents; assists in expediting projects through the Division of the State Architect and required local regulatory review.• Supervises the preparation of plans for the correction and removal of fire, life-safety and access compliance deficiencies in existing facilities which have been identified by fire and other code enforcement officers.• Interacts on a professional level with construction administrators, project managers, and construction superintendents relating to District construction projects.

Implements the maintenance control program through continuous inspection of facilities and ground structures; identifies structural, mechanical and electrical deficiencies; collects data to promote the assessment of site conditions; identifies corrective action to bring facilities up to an established level of maintenance and reduce the number of breakdowns and cost of repairs; develops a deferred maintenance plan to more efficiently utilize labor, material, and contract monies.

Responsible for the installation, repair and replacement of all types of window systems, glass and similar material in school buildings in entire district thru work order system. .

Assisted tradesmen in the installation, repair and replacement of all building materials and electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Perform a variety of skilled construction, maintenance and repair work on school grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment; assist maintenance personnel in the daily activities of the department and special projects.
