Here's one thing that most of my past employers would say about me: "Dennis has good ideas." If you need an idea person, I'm your guy. I'm also passionate about writing (journalistic and fictional) filmmaking, comedy, hosting (live, TV and radio), dance, travel and chips and salsa.Entertainment Journalism, specifically writing magazine profiles, was my bread and butter for most of my career. The magazine work dried up in the aughts so I transitioned to radio as cohost of the nationally syndicated pop culture show Twist and television, as a staff writer on such shows as Fashion Police with Joan Rivers, The Big Gay Sketch Show with SNL breakout Kate McKinnon and Lovespring International with Glee's Jane Lynch. Even when I was working steadily on a series, I kept the side projects going; travel writing, making short films, raising money for charity with the comedy show Dennis Hensley's The MisMatch Game and writing my own TV pilots. My favorite side project of late is my podcast Dennis Anyone? with Dennis Hensley. I love to interview creative people about what they do and how they don't go crazy and I'm really good at it. Though working on my own as a freelancer can be fun and fulfilling, I'm also very social and love to be part of a team. I like people and get along well with them.If I had to brand myself, I'd say that my work is smart, well-observed and funny without being mean. That's my thing...although there was that one Christina Aguilera joke on Fashion Police that was kind of a cheap shot.
