Sr. Information Security Engineer (Feb 2016– Mar 2017)System security engineer focusing on enterprise data protection. Cllaborating with 3rd party suppliers and internal supplier managers to understand services provided, data/access requirements, supplier policies and procedures. Gaps discovered during these risk assessments required negotiating with 3rd parties to deploy controls to meet requirements. Obtained RSA Archer Platform certification as RSA Archer 5.0 Administrator as part of a strategic drive toward migrating to ArcherSecurity Advisor (May 2008– Sept 2014)Responsibilities included the creation and implementation of information security policies, programs and procedures to cost-effectively and efficiently protect information and system assets from intentional or inadvertent modification or unauthorized access. Was a team member defining Information Security requirements for the deployment of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11. This position also allowed for the opportunity to be involved in the deployment of Loglogic log data management appliances and provided exposure to Aventail vpn, Secure Passage’s Firemon firewall audit tool and responsible for the monitoring of wireless network activity for unauthorized connection attempts using Aruba’s RFProtect

Primary functions as the lead engineer managing the evaluation, deployment and monitoring of client-based intrusion detection and client firewall software on Aetna’s Windows-based desktop and server systems. Other projects included the deployment of ISS Proventia Server to Linux and Windows servers. Secondary responsibilities included incident response for security-related events, monitoring systems for malicious activity; auditing wireless access point, consulting with development areas and vendors, and reviewing firewall requests
