I joined Oxx to be part of a small team, eventually I was the team until design work dried up. The company had a great design environment and was really rewarding!I enjoyed getting more involved in 3d surfacing, and am thankful for the opportunity to improve in this area after so much time spent in 2d at Chervon.

I started at Chervon as a design intern, and with the help of really talented people around me and a flexible management style I was able to become a Senior Designer by the time I left. As an Intern I started as a PPT and Sketch lackey for a super talented designer, and soaked up as much as I could from him. When I was ready to design on my own they threw a huge volume of work at me, and I had to fight to keep up. This period of trial by fire helped me sort out what was critical to design and what was fluff. Finally they trusted me enough to travel to China and develop the new company flagship product. After becoming comfortable with the design process here, the next thing for me was to become more involved in product development. This is why I left to join OXX.

Went from Peon to HVAC specialist in my time here. I did a bunch of light duty remodeling and appliance repair. I also learned some heavy duty remodeling skills from another tech that new his stuff. The crazy stories that I left this job with about shoveling roofs, unclogging toilets by hand, and patching up plumbing while bleeding from a knife wound helps me appreciate easier jobs that I had after this.

Started on the line working first, second, and then third shift here. Display Pack is run by genuinely great people that care about their employees, though I had a different experience with middle management. It seemed there was a culture that cared most about protecting one's turf, and shifting the blame when mistakes came through. Even though I was well liked by everybody I worked beside for a positive attitude and strong ethic, it felt like management saw me as a threat and wanted me gone. It didn't take long for them to use the 'three strike' rule to let me go. I'm glad they did, as I'm much better for it, and working there motivated me to finish my degree!
