I am a very strong willed individual. I had spent 14 years of my life working as a Paramedic in which I had honed my critical thinking skills and problem solving skills, with little to no information available. I have thrived on the challenges that I encountered and was very successful in my previous career. I have worked along side other EMS department personnel, as well as, emergency department staff to treat, stabilize patients. I have also spent some of the years during my career as an educator, while still working on an ambulance up to 96 hours a week. I assessed, diagnosed and treated people in a situation where literally seconds may mean the difference between life and death. However, Feb. 12, 2016 I was involved in a near fatal motor vehicle collision which had left me partially paralyzed and recovering from a severe TBI (traumatic brain injury). I fought my battles over the years learning to walk again 4 more times, no matter the set backs, I never gave in or gave up. My physicians had stated that my prognosis would be that, “I would be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life”. After 6+ years of surgeries and fighting, I now walk without any assistance. Than I began to tackle my situation of being on disability. I am rated fully disabled due to CPTSD (Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) yet I look for a position mostly remote. I have educated myself in the field of Data Science, with a passion for Machine Learning and Deep Learning, with certificate courses through Udemy, and AWS. I will bring a lot of real world experience and years of critical patient care provider problem solving expertise, that makes me a rather unique candidate for a role in Data Science. I have never been one to back down from a challenge, but rather run into them head on ready to find a solution. I look forward to always learning more and mastering this craft as I have any other that I have tackled in the past.
