As Executive Director at BiOrbic, I lead a high performing team to coordinate a multi million research and public engagement programme across twelve Irish universities and research performing organisations, in partnership with Irish and European biobased industries (multinational and SMEs), linking closely with national and EU policy makers, state agencies, producers, cooperatives, rural communities and citizens.I work as part of the Centre leadership team to shape the strategic direction of the Centre and to ensure the Centre is performing in line key performance objectives. BiOrbic, Bioeconomy SFI Research Centre is Ireland's national bioeconomy research centre. Ucd Research & Innovation

As a Research Partner at the Office of Vice President for Research, Innovation and Impact, I worked closely with senior UCD academic staff to identify, shape and implement initiatives relating to strategic priorities for the university. I worked to establish connectivity and foster collaborative engagement across university units and disciplines to target and secure large scale research funding.

My role at UCD Earth Institute spanned business development, industry engagement and commercial activity related to research as well as the development of strategically important external alliances.UCD Earth Institute brings together the expertise and perspectives of over 200 researchers working across connected earth and environmental research areas, from Crops for the Future, Climate, Energy & Resources, Green Technology, Sustainable Cities & Regions and Water Ecology & Evolution and Natural Hazards & Risk.

My role as Programme Leader for Enterprise Programmes involved the management and development of Irish Research Council enterprise programmes and enterprise engagement.This included the development of a new national funding Industrial PhD Programme.The mission of the Irish Research Council is to enable and sustain a vibrant research community in Ireland. To address the broad skills and research needs within society, the Council supports excellent researchers across all disciplines from Arts to Zoology.

My role focused on the development of enterprise engagement with researchers based in Irish Universities and Institutes of Technology, developing IRCSET's Enterprise Partnership Scheme o become a leading national funding programme facilitating researcher engagement with Irish and international SMEs and multinational corporations.The Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering & Technology (IRCSET) operated multi-million euro research funding initiatives supporting talented researchers in their early-stage career across Masters, Doctoral and Postdoctoral levels in the areas of science, engineering and technology. The emphasis of IRCSET's funding programmes was on exploratory research aimed at yielding new concepts, findings and innovations within Ireland. IRCSET amalgamated with the Irish Research Council for Humanities and Social Sciences to form the 'Irish Research Council' in 2012.
