As a Disability Adjudicator with the Commonwealth of Kentucky Disability Determinations Services (DDS), I specialize in evaluating disability benefit applications to determine eligibility for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). My role involves reviewing and analyzing medical records, vocational histories, and other relevant documentation in accordance with federal and state regulations, ensuring accurate and timely disability determinations.With a strong understanding of medical terminology and disability regulations, I apply Social Security Administration (SSA) rules to make informed decisions about applicants’ ability to work. I am responsible for managing a caseload, communicating with applicants and medical professionals, and collaborating with team members, including medical consultants and vocational experts, to ensure accurate case adjudication.In addition to case evaluation and decision-making, I maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation in compliance with DDS and SSA policies. I also participate in ongoing training to stay current with policy changes, medical trends, and best practices in disability adjudication.

I worked for the Louie B Nunn Center for Oral History as a Oral Research Intern. Using the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS) I would listen to oral histories and index important sections of the interview, making it easier to find and research for users.
