- Competition Manager: Implemented all yearly poetry slam competition programming for InsidetOut, including the Citywide Poetry Slam which selects Detroit’s nationally competing youth team and Michigan’s Louder than a Bomb Youth Poetry Festival reaching over 200 students through a 15 event tournament. Programming is executed using strategies to support long-term connections between youth, mentoring for artistic and personal development, and community stewardship.- Youth Leadership Programming: Create programming which develop youth leadership while integrating youth into program delivery. The Youth Advisory Board, a group representing 5 after school workshop sites, is trained as a cohort to: produce and host all Scratch The Page visiting artist series, deliver writing workshops, maintain a digital library of student work, and deliver self-directed projects. The Youth Poet Laureate and Ambassador program elevates a cohort of youth leaders to deliver youth-crafted workshops to over 100 peers through organizational partnerships and events.- Curated High Profile Partner Engagement: Implement all youth commissioned and high profile external performances through small group emotionally responsive methodology. Work has been presented in front of up to 1000 audience members and featured through CBS, FoxSports, Techtown, WDET, Hours Detroit, Wayne State University, and Ford among others.- Responsive Education: Develop curriculum, training, and support writers through collaborative process for the award winning Citywide Poets afterschool program, which serves 8 program sites throughout Detroit. Directly teach youth responsive curriculum to regional site of over 25 high school students while supporting the training and communication of two others.

• Program Leadership Team- Operated on the Citywide Poets leadership team to craft all of InsideOut Literary Arts after school programming. Implement in school residencies and events for InsideOut Literary Arts Programming which reaches over 5,000 youth participants a year. Provided direct support around the evaluation of existing programs to ensure program enhancement in the context of the history, geography and cultural values of the communities in which we work.• Lead Writer - Served as Lead writer for up to 3 after-school program sites, 2 in-school residencies, and Youth Advisory Board per year. Each site requiring its own responsive curriculum, individualized methodology, and direct mentorships within youth centered pedagogical framework.• Innovative Leadership Programing - Coordinated and expanded upon existing strategies to cross-pollinate program offerings between in-school and after school programming, connecting youth across the city with each other, and with opportunities to deepen their participation in youth spoken word programming. Created inaugural Youth Advisory Board, which utilizes the Youth Driven spaces model to enhance youth voice in programming and relationship building among youth Program wide. Transitioned all Scratch the Page visiting artist event to youth lead model. Expanded the organization’s practice of training youth as professional artists to write commission poems and performances through small group relational based intensive mentorship, and tripling the number of students utilized in external performances.

Tournament Manager: Implemented a 60 team international poetry competition of 350 youth aged 13-19 over the 4 day Brave New Voices Festival. Worked collaboratively over 4 months leading to the festival with a national team to design competition in conjunction with other festival events while centering outcomes of a national steering committee.· Staff Management: Created and delivered training series to support 60 person staff, which took place over 2 months leading to the event. This incorporated webinars as well as in person with a nationally representative team. Managed 30 staff over the entirety of competition.

2 Year Fellowship position with InsideOut Literary Arts through YouthSpeaks with the goal of building youth Arts capacity within the region.• Coordinate an array of workshops and drop-in programs including: a visiting authors series and ongoing performance and craft workshops. • Support multimedia growth efforts in outreach, marketing, and partnership-building with youth, schools, culture-makers, non-traditional arts sites and other organizations. • Collaborate with iO Marketing team around the production of short video and audio content. • Coordinate and expand upon existing strategies to cross-pollinate program offerings between in-school and after school programming, connecting youth across the city with each other, and with opportunities to deepen their participation in youth spoken word programming. • Contribute to program development for City Wide Poets, iO’s after school writing and performance troupe. This includes expansion and development of our performance work with Brave New Voices, the creation of a Detroit Youth Poet Laureate, coordination of our Louder Than A Bomb Festival (presented in partnership with The Neutral Zone in Ann Arbor), support of our online youth journal undr_scr review, and other leadership opportunities. • Lead a Youth Advisory Board through a Youth Driven model to create a digital library of poetic works by and for young people in the city.• Engage in planning and implementation of communication strategies that support long-term connections between youth and iO, providing mentoring for artistic and personal development, leadership and community engagement. • Provide direct support around the evaluation of existing programs to ensure program enhancement in the context of the history, geography and cultural values of the communities in which we work. • Support budget planning for City Wide Poets. • Work cooperatively and creatively with all members of the iO team. • Provide quality documentation of all work products.
