As a GIS Consultant for SJK, I am involved in a variety of projects, for a number of clients. My role is to:- liaise with clients; undertake user requirements analysis; undertake research, data audits, data collection, create data layers/datasets, spatial data analysis, mapping; write reports- assist in the implementation of GIS Infrastructure and applications.

As a GIS Consultant for Dar Al Handasah Nazih Taleb & Partners (DAHNT), Abu Dhabi, I was working on a data conversion project for AADC (Water and Electricity Utility) - To develop Data Conversion Specifications Plan and Procedures for a data conversion project (converting all Water House Connection drawings into GIS)- To develop QA/QC Procedure Specifications Plans for a data conversion project- To automate data conversion processSpecific Tasks:- To liaise with DAHNT and the client to identity business needs- To research and obtain and information on ADWEA GIS required to develop appropriate data conversions specifications and plans, and QA/QC procedures (e.g. data model, business requirements, connectivity rules, domains, etc.)- Write data conversion specifications plan and procedures document, and QA/QC document (typing, formatting and editing an MS Word document)- Implement automation of data conversion process and QA/QC- Create MS Visio flow charts for procedures to insert into documents and for posters- Assist with the project as required

I was employed to improve Ipswich Water's spatial systems ahead of a merger with other Queensland water businesses, so situating Ipswich Water as a leading Australian water services provider with regard to its spatial applications. Part of this was to implement the recommendations from the 'Strategic Review of Ipswich Water's Spatial Data' conducted by Sharma Consulting; particularly to develop a mobile schedule and dispatch application for field crews, with real time information on jobs, crews and automated reports. Specific Tasks:- To outline and develop a spatial data policy and implement standards- To develop and implement IT policies and procedures to improve business processes (ensuring all information is stored in a single point of truth and easily accessible to all staff as required)- To improve the quality of spatial data, particularly through the application of smart technology- Design, implement and manage data capture projects to address gaps in data collection- Automate data conversion process and QA/QC specifications and procedures- Develop, schedule and conduct GIS workshops and training for Ipswich Water staff across all departments- To develop and implement a mobile schedule and dispatch application for field crews with real-time information on jobs and crews (including writing technical and user manuals; producing monthly reports, etc.)- To undertake spatial data management, auditing, processing, manipulation, analysis, queries and mapping as required- To provide technical support on all matters relating to the Enterprise GIS and spatial data- To identify, prioritize and implement strategic initiatives that support the strategic objectives of Ipswich Water through the use of spatial data and applications- To liaise with various external consultants and assist in any matters relating to the GIS and spatial information
