Hi! I'm Dhara, a licensed attorney in Arizona, Colorado, and Illinois & an IAPP Certified AI Governance Professional. I leverage my programming and technical background to counsel clients on data privacy and emerging tech such as GenAI. I lead the IAPP's AI Governance affinity group & I am also a member of the EU AI Act Code of Practice Working Group, the NIST Generative AI Working Group, and the Arizona State Bar's Technology Working Group.My work focuses in on assisting key stakeholders across industries with implementing evolving technologies, including GenAI, into their products and services. I focus on balancing business goals and compliance with the evolving landscape of privacy and AI laws. I also have experience with data breach response efforts, US state privacy law compliance, and counseling on other emerging technologies.My tech background allows me to engage with my clients’ in-house legal and IT teams to identify and handle matters that lie at the intersection of tech, privacy, and the law. My unique perspective is rooted from my experiences in the business, tech, and cybersecurity spaces - including having a background in programming (C#, Java, SQL, HTML/CSS), cybersecurity, database management, and leadership – ultimately completing degrees in Computer Info Systems, B.S., Business Law, B.A, and Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a focus on tech law.In my free time, I enjoy capturing moments through photographs, cheering on the Packers (go pack go!), and working with others to increase diversity efforts in the legal x tech space.
