Developed a set of On-the-Job (OJT) tasks for newly hired production workers to enable newly hired employees to become effective more quickly. Managed the training requirements and records for the manufacturing site. Supported the Learning Management System (LMS) addressing any user concerns. Generated training reports as requested for management.Developed Training courses both for Instructor Led Training (ILT) and Online. Taught courses as required. Climate Fresk Animator for the site.

Created the Lean Healthcare training program. Developed training courses on the basics of lean health care, lean and six sigma tools, and problem solving. Courses were delivered both online using articulate storyline and instructor led training (ILT) using powerpoint. Managed the LMS (Leaning Management System) and the SCORM content. Monitored and reported company-wide training progress to management.Facilitated several process improvement teams for the central laboratory including designing and implementing a Kanban inventory system for the laboratory consumable inventory. Used Six Sigma tools to analyze the current clinical lab errors and rewrote several training courses for the clinical lab medical assistants to eliminate process errors.Mentored other team members who were interested in learning about Lean.

Time to rest, recharge, and move across the country. I traveled extensively internationally, finished my second masters degree, remodeled my new house, got my personal affairs in order, and volunteered at the local animal shelter.

Manex, as a part of the the NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), is a non-profit organization which works with small (<500 people) companies in Northern California to improve their manufacturing capabilities. As a full time employee consultant, I provided training and assisted client companies with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing. Projects included value stream mapping, 5S events, 6-Sigma DMAIC training, Lean Manufacturing principles training and APICS training for inventory management.

Developed and delivered courses in both traditional in-class and on-line formats. My main areas of focus were Lean Manufacturing (Toyota Production System) and career preparation for graduating students. Coordinated Lean Manufacturing industry certifications for students with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Assisted fellow faculty to learn and implement academic technology tools such as Canvas, D2L, Blackboard, Respondus, Qualtrics, etc). Dedicated Academic Advisor for the Technology department, individually mentoring 200+ undergraduate and graduate students.

Led the effort to implement Lean Manufacturing for the Fremont Site. Included managing the program, writing and releasing standards, developing and teaching all training classes and implementing 5S (Workplace Organization). Managed the "Lean Team" consisting of 5 hourly staff and 1 salaried staffmember. Safety Manager for the Fremont Site. Upgraded the safety program for the site to OHSA compliance. Emergency Response Team member.

Managed several projects to mainstream DellPlus (custom options and services) during the time that the proportion of computers with DellPlus options moved from less than 10% to more than 70%.Core team member for the design and implementation of a new facility. Key responsibilities were for the production line design, pilot build and final implementation. Facility was selected as one of Top 10 Plants in America by Industry Week Magazine. Assessed core manufacturing capabilities, identified constraints and implemented programs to eliminate those constraints.

Managed 3 Manufacturing Engineering Departments including budgets, employee scheduling and employee performance. Approximately 25 salaried staff and 1 hourly staff member.Piloted the Lean Production System for Applied Materials and established the procedures for line conversion. The resulting full implementation yielded a $100 million cost savings over 2 years. Pilot team was awarded the President's Gold Award.
